Mary J. Blige is among the celebrities appearing in a new series of ads to mark the American Cancer Society's 100th birthday campaign, "Finish the Fight."

In a new TV commercial, Mary walks into a quiet library, where she breaks the silence by hooking up an amplifier and asking people to "listen up."  All eyes are on Mary as she explains that "each year, hundreds of promising research studies go unfunded, for breast cancer, for lung cancer, every cancer."

She adds that, "The American Cancer Society has been behind nearly every breakthrough in recent history.  But there's still more work to do.  So let's make sure that no research is silenced."  She encourages everyone to join her in raising their voices, shouting, "Let's make noise!  Let's make noise!  Yeah!  And let's finish the fight!" as everyone around her applauds.  Other stars involved in the campaign include actor Michael Douglas and singer Josh Groban.
