Frank Ocean says he's a "long way from working fast food in New Orleans."
That's what the singer told a crowd Wednesday night, when he accepted the trophy for International Male Solo Artist at the Brit Awards, the British version of the Grammys. Frank, whose Channel Orange album won a Grammy Award earlier this month, said, "Before this year I didn't get many trophies in my life... so thank you guys for this."
Another of the evening's big winners was Emeli Sande, who scooped up two Brit Awards. She accepted the trophy for British Female Solo Artist, and called the win "incredible." Along with that, Emeli's Our Version of Events debut earned the MasterCard British Album Award.
Rihanna and Alicia Keys were nominated in the International Female Solo Artist category, but neither of them came out on top.
